Baby sun protection

We all know the importance of protecting ourselves from the sun's harmful rays, but what about protecting your baby?

Protecting your little one can be easy. For starters:

  • Stay out of the sun at peak hours (between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.)
  • Dress baby in clothing that covers his or her body: Lightweight pants and long-sleeved tops, sun hats and sunglasses.
  • When outside, stay in the shade.
  • Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher. There are specific sunscreens made for baby's skin. Try Banana Boat Baby Sunblock.
  • When possible, try to keep your baby out of the sun. It's not good for either of you!

Skin cancer rates keep rising, and the importance of protecting the skin is greater than ever. Taking precautions now is well worth the effort to prevent future damage.
